The Open Recertification course is open to graduates of any wilderness-based first aid training course that was at least 64 hours long and completed within 3 years of the proposed recertification option. Successful graduates of this course will receive Wilderness Medical Associates’ Wilderness First Responder, Anaphylaxis, and BLS/Healthcare Provider-level CPR certifications. WMA WEMS graduates with a current EMS license may also recertify the wilderness portion of their WEMS certification with this course.
**If you are using this course to recertify a WMA WEMS certification it is your responsibility to let the sponsor know when registering, and to inform the instructor on the first day of class.**
This course will be taught in English, and has a seasoned bilingual (french/english) instructor with a professional EMSbackground. COVID-19 safety protocols are in place, and our private 100-acre wilderness retreat offers the ideal spacefor limiting exposure and staying safe.
There is no registration deadline, however, space is limited and reservations will be made on a first-come first-served basis. A $100 non-refundable registration fee is required in order to reserve your spot, and the full balance of fees is due 30 days prior to the course start. Refunds are offered up to 30 days prior to the course, minus the non-refundable registration fee (we do give a 48 hour period where registration fees are refundable). Should you cancel within 30 days of the course, you will receive a credit which can be used on future courses.
At an additional cost, delicious food and exceptional accommodations are available in our lodge or campground. The classes will take place on site, and no travel is required once you arrive at our Lodge. We accommodate most food requirements such as vegan/vegetarian, allergy restrictions, gluten/dairy free at no additional cost.
